Tasting Notes: Senderos de UKAN is the result of a careful selection of Tempranillo vineyards from different villages in Rioja Alavesa. The grapes, harvested in boxes of 15kg, are then selected upon entry into the winery and processed by hand. Minimal intervention in order to achieve a balanced, fluid wine, full of fruit and freshness, ready to be enjoyed from the very first moment.

Silky, ripe, and beautifully expressive, Senderos bursts with refined red fruit and a smooth, velvety finish. It’s the most approachable expression of UKAN’s vineyards—crafted from carefully selected Tempranillo plots across Rioja Alavesa. Aged 12–14 months in French barrels.

The Vintage: 2021 began with a regular winter and spring in terms of precipitation and temperatures. The summer months were characterised by below- normal average temperatures and low rainfall. The final stage of the ripening was characterised by sunny days and cool nights that helped to retain acidity and gave the musts an extraordinary balance. Overall, it was a moderate vintage that will deliver great ageing potential.
