Collequieto Pecorino
Type: White Wine
Grape(s): Pecorino
Wine Region: Marche, Italy
Tasting Notes: Characteristic citrusy and tropical fruit notes, such as clementine, mango and pineapple, but also stone fruit and hints of herbaceous notes such as sage. Balanced, good acidity, round, thick mouthfeel. Flavours of white peach, lemon and pear. Slightly mineral finish.
Pecorino is a newly rediscovered grape that was once forgotten due to its low yield. In the 1970s, it was found growing around a farmhouse at 800 meters above sea level and soon replanted for further studies. The first vintage made with this grape dates back to 1994, making it a relatively young varietal in modern winemaking.
Suggested food and wine pairing: Perfect as an aperitif or with creamy cheese and vegetable tapas such as artichoke or asparagus.
