Tasting Notes: Bright strawberry and cherry notes lead the way with some delicious savoury character and good minerality. Intense and medium bodied this is designed to be drunk easily on its own or equally with food.

After pressing the wine was aged in 6000 litre barrels, a small amount went into 225l barrels for one year. 20 % new french oak barrels were used.

The family owned and operated estate Hanewald-Schwerdt was founded in 1955 in Leistadt.

I buy this wine a few times during a year. It. Is an excellent lighter red when you do not want something too full bodied. The last bottle went with steak at a late and leisurely lunch. It worked well with the food. I could imagine drinking and enjoying it on its own but we are more food and wine people.
