Chenas Tradition du Bois de la Salle
Type: Red Wine
Grape(s): Gamay
Wine Region: France
Tasting Notes: Chénas is the rarest of Beaujolais wines. It owes its name to the oaks that were once planted along the slopes. Floral aromas of rose nuanced with spice notes. Solidly structured, it is a firm wine with a strong personality.
The Estate: Located in the small villages of Chénas et La Chapelle de Guinchay, the Chénas vines are planted in sandy, clay soils. Harvesting is carried out by hand and the grapes are left in tank for 10 days to macerate in order to optimise the colour and aroma of the wine
Suggested food and wine pairing: It would be perfect served with red meat or rabbit. It also works well with cheese.
