Description

Type: White Wine
Grape(s): Viognier
Wine Region: Languedoc-Roussillon, France

Tasting Notes: In its early youth, the nose is fresh with apricots, peach and jasmine. After a year of aging, dried apricot is dominant on the first nose then it evolves into acacia honey, quince and very ripe peach. The palateis fresh and supple enhanced by touches of apricot and vine peach. It is a wine to drink rather young, which will take on richness and notes of dried apricots and honey as it ages.

Since 1931, five family generations of Maison BROTTE in Châteauneuf-du-Pape have created refined wines with passion and attention to detail, elegantly fruity and spicy, with remarkable smoothness. The perfect knowledge of the terroirs and the art of winemaking and aging give this unique style to Brotte wines. Viognier is a grape variety with a more discreet acidity. Here, it’s the smoothness and creaminess of Brotte wines that is in the spotlight.

Suggested food and wine pairing: It goes perfectly with an aperitif, summer salads, grilled white fish, sushi and sweet/savoury Asian cuisine.
