Tasting Notes: A Merlot-dominant wine that offers aromas of  redcurrants, plums, and a hint of cherry blossom, layered with notes of tobacco, cinnamon, and earthy spice. Medium to full-bodied, it delivers a plush, silky texture with  finely balanced tannins.

Château Montlandrie is owned by Denis Durantou, a highly respected winemaker known for his work at Château l'Eglise-Clinet in Pomerol. Denis Durantou's winemaking philosophy at Château Montlandrie focuses on preserving the purity of the fruit and expressing the terroir of the Castillon region. This 11 hectare vineyard has 25 year old vines - 75% Merlot, 20% Cabernet Franc and 5% of a new clone of Cabernet Sauvignon that Denis planted in 2009. Always modestly priced, this is a wine that gives brilliant value for money.

Suggested food and wine pairing: Baked ham with honey and clove glaze, roast duck with cranberry sauce or wild mushroom risotto to go with those earthy notes.
