Tasting Notes: UKAN is the winery’s icon. The result of a meticulous vineyard selection that discovered three old Tempranillo vineyards in Laguardia. Each plot is elaborated separately to enhance their uniqueness, and then blended into a single elegant and well-structured wine. UKAN is a complex, full-bodied and very drinkable wine with a lot of ageing potential.

Crafted from some of the oldest vines in Rioja Alavesa. Fermented in oak vats and aged 16 months in French barrels, it delivers dark fruit, fine tannins, and subtle oak— all framed by a structure that echoes the grandeur of top Bordeaux.

The Vintage: 2021 began with a regular winter and spring in terms of precipitation and temperatures. The summer months were characterised by below- normal average temperatures and low rainfall. The final stage of the ripening was characterised by sunny days and cool nights that helped to retain acidity and gave the musts an extraordinary balance. Overall, it was a moderate vintage that will deliver great ageing potential.
