Toth Ferenc Pinceszet Bikaver Superior
Type: Red Wine
Grape(s):
Wine Region: Eger, Hungary
Tasting Notes: Deep purple colour, dense wine. Fast opening and complex on the nose. The most noticeable traces of barrel ageing are spices, rum chestnut and chocolate notes. At the same time, there is a hint of violet florality and blueberry-blackberry fruitiness. It has a pleasant acidity, firm tannins that are still young, but well integrated into the character of a full-bodied, intense wine. The palate is characterised by ripe black cherry, offering a silky texture and a moderately long, delicately fruity finish, culminating with a hint of chestnut.
Suggested food and wine pairing: Rich stews and braises, such as beef stew, coq au vin, or lamb shank, are perfect with this wine. Smoky, tangy barbecue dishes like ribs or pulled pork would also be a great choice. For a hearty pasta, mushroom and truffle tagliatelle would make a perfect pairing.
